Tuning Aspects
The 9 Note D Kurd Handpan Generation 4 is tuned no differently to any of our other D Kurd Minor scale Handpans however, you will notice that our Generation 4 Handpans have a particular finesse and intonation when playing quietly. The Generation 4 Handpans are ideal for any quieter setting that requires a little more delicacy or gentleness yet without losing the beauty of the instrument’s sound. Not the best for projection but ideal for smaller get-togethers. Powder-Coated Handpans
Our powder-coated handpans are heat-fused onto the handpan in what would typically be considered an added layer of protection in other metal industries but in the case of our handpans is purely for aesthetic purposes, opening up a whole new range of colorful handpans to choose from – particularly for our entry-level and most affordable models, the Generation 4s. The powder-coating does not adversely affect the sound in any way and if anything, adds an additional layer of protection against the elements – just checkout Ethereal in E’s many colored-handpans-in-water (our powder-coated Generation 4 handpans!) videos to see what we mean! Powder-coating is different to Hydro-dipped-coating whose colors and designs are little more complex and which we reserve only for our Generation 7 models here.
Colors
The title of this product is the color that is presented in the main image above. The other photos are representations of the other colors available for this model.
Extras
All Generation 4 Handpans come with their own soft cases. The option to add a hardcase (extra transport protection) to your handpan purchase is available for just an extra $100, otherwise, handpan hardcases are sold separately for $199 here. All Generation 4 handpans come with a Gu hole (for resonance) and are made of nitrided steel. Note that all handpans come with a black protective rubber belt (even if images may show other colors) which serves as an added protector and sealer for the handpan.
- Note that although product title names may contain multiple factors, for e.g., "9, 10 & 13 Note Handpans in Multiple Keys (Kurd / Hijaz / Amara / Pygmy / Major / Sabye) in 432hz, 440hz or 444hz...", the actual order will be specified by the options you select.

Further Information: All notes of the handpan have a beautiful resonance which when played with a little practice, can be tamed in anything from a matter of minutes to less than a week. Regardless, you'll find our series of 20+ introductory tutorial videos on Youtube or from the links below very useful.
