The Generation 7 Handpan by NovaPans Introducing the Generation 7 Handpan by NovaPans Handpans. The Generation 7, also known as our "Gen 7" or "Sound Healing Handpan" was first introduced to the NovaPans Store in 2020 and has since swooped the Sound Healing Communities off their feet. People struggle to believe that a handpan, never mind at the price that we make them, can have a sustain that is just that amount longer than others which makes it so majestic, yet warm and rich-sounding. In fact, many first-time buyers end up purchasing even a second and third Generation 7 Handpan to add to their collection! We have received such high appraisal for the Gen 7s from sound healers, sound journey and meditation holders, and people who just want to take themselves on their own sound-induced meditation or calming effects of the gentle yet fully space-holding frequencies of the Gen 7.

Specification Descriptions
Color
Each of our Generation 7 raw natural colors, Gold, Gold (Polished), Gold (Striped), Silver, Silver (Polished), Silver + Golden Dimples, and Crimson are the natural coloring result of different heat intensities applied to the handpan shells during production. Hydro-Dipped Handpans are slightly different in that they are the raw natural handpan color masked with a thin layer of PVA, offering a greater selection of design options with a unique sound difference also (available for Generation 7s only). Do note that handpans in their raw natural color offer a greater sustain over one that has been Hydro-Dipped as the additional layer creates a subtle dampening to the handpan's original sustain (an effect in itself). Number of Notes
9 & 13. Please note that our 9 Note Handpans above are now Mini Handpans (found here) which are more suited for those wanting a lighter, higher-sounding, and arguably more convenient handpan for playing and moving. The Mini Handpan is easily carriable as a carry-on bag on most planes while other "traditional" sized handpans are often susceptible to more checks. For Handpans with 9 notes, all these notes are visible on the top side of the handpan only while on a 13+ Note (double-sided handpans) you have typically 9 notes on the top and 4+ on the bottom. If you've opted for a 13+ Note (also called a Mutant Handpan for having so many notes) Handpan, please contact us to specify the personal requests needed so we can get your handpan order exactly how you want it. Please note that the size of the handpan or the number of notes on the handpan does not affect the quality of the sound; all handpans retain their original sustain, projection and resonance regardless of the total number of notes or its change in diameter. Key / Tonality / Scale
Due to its smaller size, the Mini Handpan is currently only available in 5 scales; the F3 Kurd, F# Integral, G3 Kurd, G# Kurd, and A3 Kurd. If you are looking for any of another scale, we recommend you explore the Generation 7s standard model. You will notice that the Generation 7s come in the largest selection of handpan keys out of all our handpans. Frequencies
432hz, 440hz, 442hz and 444hz. You may have heard of the 432hz frequency, and if so, then you'll know that most instruments today are tuned to the 440hz and that the 432hz is rather the frequency tuning of nature, otherwise known as "The Miracle Frequency". 442hz (whose C#6 note reaches 1111hz) and 444hz have associations with DNA healing and other somatic benefits worth researching. Some claim there to be no difference but just like colors on a handpan, changes in frequencies are just as important. All frequencies have their own healing properties which have richer explanations online. 

Dimensions
24 X 46 cm / 9.4 X 18.11" (height x diameter). The Mini Handpan is a recent invention added to the community just in 2024 and is perfect for anyone looking for a handpan that fits a lot more comfortably on one's lap (especially for people with smaller statures), that sings at a higher pitch (the Mini plays at a lovely treble range), or simply those wanting a smaller handpan for traveling and handling. The Mini Handpans are made exactly like any of our other Generation 7 models, with the same amount of sustain, projection, and resonance.

Steel
Stainless Steel handpans are considered an upgrade to traditional Nitride Steel Handpans (which were the norm from 2000-2020). Stainless Steel has less malleability or in other words, is "stronger" which is the very reason why on our Generation 7s the notes are a lot more sustained than our other models. In fact, the sustain of our stainless steel handpans ever surpasses that of competing models as you'll hear in a non-bias handpan review here (listen to the NovaPans Generation 7 starts at 7:06 and just how out-of-this-world it sounds and the many complementing comments to support it). 

Bag
Soft Bag included The NovaPans Handpan Soft Bag is a thin fabric back-pack style bag that is light to carry and easy to quickly and efficiently place your handpan inside and transport with you on any casual small or moderate trip not expecting much handling. Hardcases are sold separately (you should see a discounted option for hardcases at checkout) and are more ideal for rigorous traveling such as by car, plane, bus etc. If you are traveling with either a soft or hard case, there is no harm in adding some additional layers of clothing or cushion as added protection for your handpan - in fact, it's recommended!

 ☆ All handpans are produced, shipped, and delivered within 2-4 weeks from the date of purchase with free worldwide shipping and a trackable reputable courier (such as UPS, FedEx, or DPD). ☆ Every handpan may display signs of tuning marks to some extent which is a natural production trait considering that all of our handpans are hand-tuned. These are not scratches but in fact, very subtle indents that are practically non-visible unless scrutinized (tuning “dimples”).
☆ All of our handpans are hand-tuned and any handpan that doesn't sound proportionally in tune within a 5-10 cents tuning threshold (noticeable by the human ear) does not pass our quality check and is immediately returned for retuning.
